Financial aid is applicable to all Principia Study Abroad programs, based on the student’s individual award package as determined by the Financial Aid office.
For full-semester programs, the amount of financial aid students were awarded will be applied to their tuition, room and board for the program. Additional expenses will include a $500 administrative fee and the cost of your flight (up to $1,500).
For break programs, the percentage of your financial aid award package will apply to the tuition of these programs, which is prorated per semester hour. Students are responsible for room and board ($425 per week for a 4-week program), a $150 administrative fee, and the cost of your flight (up to $1,500).
The Financial Aid Director and Study Abroad Program Managers are willing to discuss ways to help students afford the cost of study abroad programming.

Per the Principia College Billing Policy:
Due Dates for Non-Semester Program Charges
Charges for any off-campus, non-semester program (i.e. Study Abroad) will be added to the bill at the start of the semester immediately preceding the program departure date. Due dates and policies for semester payment will govern when payments must be made for non-semester program charges. Payment must be made by the established due date to avoid a late fee and program registration cancellation. If program registration cancellation is necessary, the student will remain responsible for any non-recoverable expenses incurred.
Study Abroad Grant
Students who receive Principia need-based aid grants (this does not include merit scholarships), as well as post-graduate students, are eligible for an additional Study Abroad Grant to help with expenses not covered by financial aid and scholarships. These costs may include flights, room and board, administrative fee, and opportunity costs. Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need, are first-time study abroad participants, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
If eligible, students can apply for the Study Abroad Grant during the current application cycle. If you have questions about your eligibility, email the Financial Aid Director.
