Major: B.S biology
Year: Senior
From: San Diego, California… but my family just moved to St. Louis and Seattle
What intrigues/excites you most about going to Ecuador?
I’m mostly excited about seeing snakes, frogs, and birds! I love the environment in Elsah… but I’m excited to see new things in person and geek out with my friends on all of the reptiles and amphibians.
Describe yourself.
I am blonde and 5’3.5… My favorite animals are geckos and bats. I have been on the Prin rattlesnake tracking team for two years, and have taken care of the Zoo Room since I was a freshman. In my free time I like to go on walks, work out, and people watch. My favorite colors are red and green, but Christmas is not my favorite holiday… Halloween is. I am allergic to laundry detergent. My house burned down when I was 8… That sums it up!
What is the best piece of advice/wisdom you’ve ever been given?
I had this thought when I was stressed once. We are literally specs of dust on a floating rock going through an infinity of nothing…. nothing really matters THAT much. Don’t stress yourself too much.
What lights your fire and gets you fully engaged in life?
Being successful. Not with money or fame or any junk like that, but fulfilling my personal goals and being the best I can be for myself…. And maybe to make my dad proud. To answer the question though, snakes, tiny houses, Thai food, and nice walks in the park light my fire.
What’s your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is The Martian or The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury. He’s a great author to look into, if you’re interested in not being boring.
