Kristin Manker

Kristin-mankerWhy are you Interested in Japan?

I’ve always found Japan fascinating. The culture is so different from our own and is such an elegant blend between old and new. I’m in love with the language (I think it has a beautiful rhythm to it) and the people seem so genuine and honest. I could go on and on but that would probably get boring.

What are you most looking forward to experiencing/learning in Japan?

Everything! I just want to soak it all up!

What is your favorite sushi or Japanese food?: I’m kind of new to sushi but I really love miso soup and calamari (which honestly surprised me because I figured I’d be the last person to like squid–I’m sorry squidward!).

Please share a metaphysical quote or idea that will help you in preparation for and participation on this program:

In preparing for this trip and dealing with the occasional butterflies I feel, I’ve thought about how there is no outcome but the divine outcome, and no plan but the divine plan. It reminds me of God’s guidance and complete protection.
