Order & Chaos: Work from the 2018 Greece, Italy, Turkey Abroad, November 19 – December 7, 2018
Opening reception: Monday, November 19, 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
This exhibition features the artwork, narratives, and installations of Principia College students participating on the fall 2018 study abroad program in Greece, Turkey, and Italy. The program is led by art professor Dan Kistler and philosophy professor Chris Young.
Bilder: New Work by Jared Clark, October 9 – November 9, 2018
The playful work of painter and installation artist Jared Clark blurs the lines between painting and sculpture as well as high and low art. This exhibition features all new work by Clark, including one of his on-site, improvised “bilds.” Clark’s home and studio are in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Glenn Felch: Lessons of Love, June 10 – September 15, 2018
A survey of the studio career of artist and Principia College studio art professor Glenn Felch, who taught at the College from 1973 to 2007, this exhibition recognizes the sensitivity, versatility, and skillful narrative quality of Felch’s work. The exhibition was curated by artist and Professor Emerita Judith Felch, who will give a special lecture about Glenn’s life and work in Wanamaker Hall on Thursday, September 13, 7:30 p.m.
Coup de Grace: Senior Capstone Exhibition, April 24 – May 12, 2018
This annual senior capstone exhibition features the work of graduating Studio Art majors (spring 2018) Gracie Buchanan, Andrew Christianson, Otis Heimer, Anna Litwiller, Kristen Oyer, and Winnie Robinson.
18: The Annual Juried Student Exhibition, April 10 – April 18, 2018
The first annual juried student art exhibition at Principia College, the show was juried by internationally-recognized artist Buzz Spector, who is Professor of Art at the Sam Fox School of Art, Washington University, St. Louis. Four cash prizes and seven honorable mentions were awarded by Spector, who also met with art and English students during his campus visit and spoke at the exhibition’s opening reception.

Tapping into the Flow: Teaching and Making Art Above the Mississippi River, October 14 – February 2, 2018
Recognizing the centrality of the visual arts at Principia College throughout its history, this exhibition brings together for the first time works by fourteen artist-teachers at the College—from Frederick Oakes Sylvester to the current studio art faculty–as well as the College’s esteemed architect, Bernard Maybeck. The exhibition, curated by studio art professors Duncan Martin and Paul Ryan, also celebrates the completion of the new Voney Art Center and the establishment of the James K. Schmidt Gallery.
