The first annual juried student art exhibition at Principia College, the show was juried by internationally-recognized artist Buzz Spector, who is Professor of Art at the Sam Fox School of Art, Washington University, St. Louis. Four cash prizes and seven honorable mentions were awarded by Spector, who also met with art and English students during his campus visit and spoke at the exhibition’s opening reception.

Recognizing the centrality of the visual arts at Principia College throughout its history, this exhibition brings together for the first time works by fourteen artist-teachers at the College—from Frederick Oakes Sylvester to the current studio art faculty–as well as the College’s esteemed architect, Bernard Maybeck. The exhibition, curated by studio art professors Duncan Martin and Paul Ryan, also celebrates the completion of the new Voney Art Center and the establishment of the James K. Schmidt Gallery.
