What are you most excited to learn and to do while abroad in Scotland & England?
I’m really excited to explore the country and see the different places – both in terms of the theatre, the history, and the general every day. I’m hoping to move to the UK so this will be a great experience for me to truly see the different cultures there! I also really appreciate architecture so I’m excited to see all the different styles and eras that we’ll see around as we travel.
If you could travel back in time, where and when would you like to go? and why?
Honestly, I probably wouldn’t travel back in time – I love certain parts of history and I would love to see them and gain a better understanding but I’m not sure I personally would want to experience any of my favourite eras. However, my favourite historical era is the Tudor era in London, so if I had to say any era and place, probably then – or shortly into the Elizabethan era due to the (relative) lack of religious and political turmoil compared to the prior era.
What is your favorite Shakespeare play or character or Shakespeare-inspired film?
My favourite Shakespeare play is Twelfth Night! I think it’s a really fun play with some of his best written characters. I’m also a fan of The Tempest (one of my favourites conceptually although not my favourite in execution) and Taming of the Shrew (strong characterization and still reflects present culture – specifically if you read it as Katherine fighting for survival).
What is your favorite way to express yourself creatively?
My current favourite way to express myself is through choreography! Choreographing for the last two Dance Prods was a huge highlight of my time at Principia College, and I’m very grateful I got the chance to do it.
