Thursday — Elk Refuge/Art Museum
Today we visited the Elk Refuge and the National Museum of Wildlife Art. The students were split into two groups and they alternated between refuge and museum. In transition, we took a detour to see wildlife on Miller’s Butte. Bighorn sheep, pronghorn and elk littered the roadside and hillside.
Wednesday — Research Day
Research day is comprised of the groups gathering to discuss research questions, formulating hypotheses and designing a method of research. They then head out into the field to collect data. Before dinner, they return from the field with their collection of data, analyze it, come up with a conclusion and put together a presentation. Each group presents to the others during our evening program.
Tuesday — Bradley-Taggert Day
Enthusiastic groups marched up the terminal moraine near Bradley and Taggert Lakes looking for geological clues.

Group 2 poses on the terminal moraine under Grand Teton after learning about the geology of the area — specifically the effect of glaciation.

Students presented their results of a hypothesis to practice the scientific method in preparation of our research day.
Snowy landscape outside our cabins lit by a headlamp. One minute exposure of two images blended together in PhotoShop using the Screen Blend Mode.
We will explore night photography more…
