My name is Marlaina Mathisen and this is my 4 ½ year in college. I am majoring in Studio Art (ceramics), Education, and minoring in Global Studies. I am from the North-West Suburbs of Chicago. I am intrigued by the immense focus of outdoor education in such a unique place! I think it is important to recognize your ego and current understandings before being able to truly see other cultures and people with open eyes. One of the most meaningful places to me is the forest near my house where I learned how to problem solve and be involved with nature for so many years of my childhood.
