Caroline Carlson

My name is Caroline Carlson. I am a senior in college. My major is Global Studies. I am from Long Beach, CA. I’m really glad to have this opportunity to travel outside the U.S. for the first time and to be able to do it in an environment that will help me grow as a student and global citizen, not to mention, I’m excited to see how beautiful St. Lucia is and do all of the fun activities that are planned. I feel it is important to make sure that you, as a traveler, are well aware of the cultural mannerism/norms of the place you’re traveling to and knowing what not to do in order to not offend anyone. Additionally, knowing how a place’s history has shaped it to be what it currently is is vital for properly understanding and respecting a place. My most meaningful place is Yosemite National Park as it’s basically my number one happy place out of anywhere and is extremely beautiful.
