What intrigues/excites you about the Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia & Herzegovina program?
- I am looking forward to seeing the places I love through the eyes of the students. While I can only expect that they too will fall in love with it all, for them it is history they have had no experience except through this class which is a different lens than mine.
Where do you most look forward to visiting during our program?
- Sarajevo is the location that I’m most excited about as it’s the place I haven’t yet gotten to see for myself.
What has been the most meaningful idea you’ve discovered or learned about the idea of shifting borders so far?
- Borders are not limited to geography. They are nebulous and often social constructs seen by people in different ways.
What do you hope to either learn yourself or share with others about world literature (based on what you know so far)?
- While I’ve been blessed to do this trip twice before, I’m excited to hold on to things I learn even more and hopefully pick up on things I’ve missed in the past.
For me, the SloCroBoH Abroad is an opportunity to get to spend time with bestie Ellen, in a place she loves and shared with me so I, too, love it all whilst hanging out/growing with an awesomesauce group of students.
What do you plan to eat while there?
- Gnocchi, doner kebab, cevapi, gnocchi from Rab, gelato, apple juice, pizza, gnocchi, coca cola, asparagus items (in season), Kinder Pingui, Mu yogurt, gelato, gnocchi, delicious breakfasts, crepes in Zagreb, milkshakes on the rooftop, strawberry mentos, gnocchi, fresh milk… to name a few things…
