How would you describe yourself?

I would describe myself as open-minded, curious, driven, and empathetic.

What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear French Polynesia?

Beautiful islands and beautiful people!

What do you most look forward to during the French Polynesia program?

I am really looking forward to truly being able to immerse myself into a new culture I have never experienced before.  I look forward to doing this in many ways, not only by connecting with locals, but also getting to participate in one of my favorite activities when traveling: trying new food and seeing what locals’ diets look like with the resources they have.

What has been the most meaningful idea/fact you have discovered or learned about this program so far?

I think the most meaningful idea I’ve discovered about this program is the fact that we are going with many intentions, but one of the most important ones is to help. I knew we would be going to learn about their history and culture, and to appreciate it, but I found it interesting to learn that we would be conducting projects that aim to identify issues or opportunities to improve the lives of the islanders.

At this point in your life, what is important/meaningful to you?

Spending my time in a way that will benefit others and that will ultimately develop myself into someone that makes me and my family proud.
