Why Slovenia?

I still don’t know enough about it, despite having been there three times.

What Slovenian landscape feature are you most excited to see, and why?

I’m excited for a hike we’re going to take from Kobarid that traces part of Rommel’s route in WWI. The description says we’ll see a great view of the Soca Valley. I always like a great view from a high place.

If you had your own shield/coat of arms, what four qualities would you choose to represent you?

These four qualities from Edith Gaddis Brewer’s hymn 86 in the Christian Science Hymnal resonate with me now: patience, courage, meekness, learning.

For me, the Slovenia Abroad is an opportunity to …

Show my students a place that many of them didn’t even know existed before they learned about this abroad. I can’t wait to see their faces light up with wonder when they discover for the first time the secrets and treasures of Slovenia and its people.
