Printmaking with Pavel Piekar

Throughout our time in Prague, students have the opportunity to make a lino print with acclaimed printmaker Pavel Piekar in his studio in Hradčanska.

Ari, Nathan, and Sophie were the first group to meet with Pavel. Here Pavel is showing them a range of printmaking techniques and artworks.

Next, Pavel looked at each student’s sketchbook to help them decide which drawing to use for their print.

Then it was time to draw the sketch on the linoleum and carve the surface.
