Junkyard and Technology Drawing: Art Critique

This morning, we met at our studio in the Meet Factory for a group critique of the second large drawing assignment.

For this assignment, students constructed an odd and unusual composition with photos of the train junkyard next to our art studio. They could also use photos from the Technology Museum in their composition.

Whereas the first large drawing asked the students to work in a representational mode, this drawing assignment asked the students to experiment with form and abstraction. They also introduced color pastel to their palette.

As usual, the group critique was constructive and enlightening as students shared observations and ideas about each other’s process and drawing.

Here is a picture of each person’s drawing at the time of the critique.
