What are your transformational goals on the Prague Abroad?

My transformational goals for this abroad includes renewing my commitment as a student and finding, or narrowing down, what I want to focus on as a body of work. For the last seven years I have been a committed member of either club or school soccer teams and or I have worked during the school year. Therefore, my attention is not always on my schoolwork—it tends to be everywhere else. Another important goal of mine is to continue my struggle in finding my own style and what I want my work to be about. I understand that my body of work will always have a certain flux to it, but as of now I have possibilities floating around with no concrete idea about what it is that I want to pursue.

What does it mean to be an artist/writer in our contemporary culture? I’ve heard that writers and artists in today’s world are meant to be social critics and, to some extent, I believe what I have heard. Without those social critics, I believe the world may be a little more ignorant than it is now. However, I am a firm believer that an artist/writer should pursue what tugs at their curiosity or what hits their heart. It seems like social justice and the like is what hits most people’s heart.
