Ballwin, Missouri

What is your major(s)/minor(s)?

I am the Resident Counselor!  Academically, I majored in Biology and earned a Masters in Environmental Studies & Geography

At this point in your life, what is important/meaningful to you?

Being with family and friends and spending time in nature (and adding new birds to my life list).

What most intrigues and excites you about the Aotearoa/New Zealand study abroad?

Seeing New Zealand from the student’s eyes. (I’m excited to be back after going on the first Principia abroad to New Zealand in 1992!)

What is the most meaningful idea you’ve discovered or learned about Aotearoa/New Zealand so far?

I have really enjoyed learning how deeply connected the Maori are with nature, so it is considered a part of their heritage. I can really relate to this and want to explore it more deeply when we are there.

For me, the Aotearoa/New Zealand abroad is an opportunity to … learn new skills, meet people, and learn more about the different cultures of New Zealand – to ultimately expand my own culture.
