What has been the most meaningful idea you’ve discovered or learned so far in preparation for your study abroad to Nepal?
The most meaningful idea I’ve learned is how diverse Nepal is. Its elevation ranges from close to sea level to the peak of the highest mountain in the world. There are over 100 distinct ethnic groups, over 100 languages spoken, and 10 main religions practiced. Nepal is also diverse in its ecosystems, from rainforests to deserts.
For me, the Nepal Study Abroad is an opportunity to…get out of my comfort zone and be immersed in a culture that is different from my own.
What do you want to be better at?
I want to improve my understanding of the language so I can converse with the locals.
How does learning about climate crisis in Nepal shape the way you view, and want to engage with, the world?
Learning about the climate crisis in Nepal has increased my understanding of inequality and climate justice, shaping the way I view the world.
