Killgore discussing Chapel interior from balcony, 1933<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>1933<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>January<\/strong> and <strong>July,<\/strong> Frederic Morgan goes to San Francisco to confer with Maybeck.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 10,<\/strong> construction resumes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 23,<\/strong> Maybeck returns to Elsah for three months to oversee construction, especially the completion of the Chapel interior.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 28, <\/strong>Edward Hussey arrives back in Elsah. Charles Lundgren remains in San Francisco.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>1934<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>June 8,<\/strong> first graduation ceremony is held in the Chapel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 2-October 30,<\/strong> Maybeck returns to Elsah to supervise construction of the science building, a temporary dining room\/kitchen complex, and two temporary classrooms designed in the shingle style. Maybeck also oversees completion of Rackham Court and the interior of Anderson Hall.<br \/>\n<strong><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>October 1,<\/strong><br \/>\nMaybeck and Hussey drive to Brazil, Indiana, to visit a factory making the ceramic building blocks for the science laboratories.
