I am an English major and interested in the Lake District for the richness of its historical features: literature, ecology, the arts and social sciences. Regarding their most famous authors, writers and social commentaries through the works of Wordsworth, Ruskin, Coleridge, and Beatrix Potter is looked forward to very much.
I anticipate being in the northern areas closer to the Scottish border and imbibing English viewpoints regarding their language, their ancient landscapes, farming, sheep herding and their evolving bio diversity. The English way with the social arts, people interactions and the value they place on their homes and politics will be fascinating as well.
With Brexit looming in the background and with the Royal Family always astir in the limelight, there will be further discoveries since the English are so reticent about disclosing themselves until approached properly which is the English way, My goal is to come to know England in the Lake District the way the English know it.
