On Saturday corresponding with our conference theme this year, we are dedicating ourselves to looking at Gender Equality through a different lens.
The Representation Project, that also created the well-known documentary “Miss Representation”, pitches the following:
“Compared to girls, research shows that boys in the U.S. are more likely to be diagnosed with a behavior disorder, prescribed stimulant medications, fail out of school, binge drink, commit a violent crime, and/or take their own lives. The Mask You Live In asks: As a society, how are we failing our boys?”
On Saturday, we will be able to ask these questions. After seeing the movie, we will hear an engaging talk and have time to discuss these issues with the world-renown Canadian speaker Jeff Perera.
