Abroad program director & Professor of Educational Studies
I am the department chair, and a professor in the Educational Studies program at Principia College. I attended Principia for eight years as a student and I’m beginning my tenth year as a faculty member. My areas of expertise are in communication and experiential education. As a student at Principia, I participated in two study abroad programs, and they were the highlight of my experience! As a professor, this will be my sixth study abroad program! I’ve also traveled extensively on my own to many countries. I have spent a combined total of about 11 weeks in Iceland and I’m looking forward to being a professor and guide in one of the most beautiful and intriguing places I’ve ever been! It is my greatest joy to take students on these programs and to be a part of their growth and progress. On my last three study abroad programs, I’ve implemented a technology-free policy to support cultural immersion, group cohesiveness, engagement with content, and personal growth. I’m looking forward to this technology-free experience too!
