About the Abroad

Purpose

The purpose of this program is to provide students with a cross-cultural experience in France, with improved language proficiency, a better understanding of the culture and society of France, and an opportunity to develop spiritual qualities, so as to serve the cause of Christian Science. Students will reflect on the different ways to bridge the gap between “foreigners” and be citizens of the world.”

The academic purpose of this program will be supported by language courses taken in Bordeaux and Pau, France to help the students sharpen speaking, writing, reading, and comprehension skills.  Students will live in homestays in three locations, also to include Paris, to increase their understanding of French culture.  This abroad experience will promote individual spiritual growth, generally broaden horizons, and promote global awareness and a desire to contribute to the healing of national and world problems.
