What has been the most meaningful idea you’ve discovered or learned so far in preparation for your study abroad to Finland?
The idea of having a trust-based society has been very interesting to me. It is particularly interesting because I feel that building trust is important to addressing some of the social issues Nigeria faces.
For me, the Finland Study Abroad is an opportunity to…
To visit and learn about a new country, gain ideas about what makes a society successful that I can take back home, learn about Finnish education and sustainability and the opportunity to build my social and intercultural skills.
What do you want to be better at?
I want to be better at connecting with people, expressing and being more myself.
How does learning about Finnish education, sustainability, and culture shape the way you view, and want to engage with, the world?
From what I learnt so far, I want to do my part to create a world that is more equitable, trust-based, research-driven, and laidback. By laidback I mean a world where there is more work-life balance, less stress and more play and opportunities to connect with others and nature. Even if not at a large scale, I feel that incorporating these values into the spaces I interact with in my future work, school or community will improve our lives and wellbeing.
