{"id":294,"date":"2017-02-15T15:56:02","date_gmt":"2017-02-15T15:56:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/content.principia.edu\/sites\/acorn\/?p=294"},"modified":"2017-03-22T16:02:16","modified_gmt":"2017-03-22T16:02:16","slug":"how-to-dye-pasta-and-rice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/content.principia.edu\/sites\/acorn\/2017\/02\/15\/how-to-dye-pasta-and-rice\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Dye Pasta and Rice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A five-step recipe for dying pasta in every color of the rainbow for craft projects, jewelry, and more.<\/p>\n<h3><u>Ingredients and Supplies<\/u><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Uncooked pasta or rice<\/li>\n<li>Food coloring or icing gels<\/li>\n<li>Vinegar<\/li>\n<li>Plastic containers with lids or Zip-loc bags<\/li>\n<li>Newspaper or paper plates<\/li>\n<li>Cookie sheet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><u>Instructions<\/u><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Place the pasta or rice in container or Ziploc bag (up to two cups).<\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl, mix together 1 tsp of vinegar with a generous dab of icing gel or 1\/2 of a small bottle of food coloring.<\/li>\n<li>Pour the vinegar\/icing gel mix over the pasta or rice and seal the container.<\/li>\n<li>Shake vigorously, until the pasta is well coated.
