Talk with your child about what a repeating pattern is and encourage your child to copy, extend, and\/or generate simple pattterns. Lay a simple pattern out on a plate or on the table using the two kinds of teddy grahams. You migh start with an ABAB pattern.&nbsp; Toddlers may be invited to copy the simple pattern that you have created. As your young preschooler grows in his understanding of patterns, encourage him to extend a pattern that has been started or generate new patterns.
