Why Slovenia?
When the all the upcoming abroads were announced, I went through each of them and became very curious about the Slovenia abroad. I had never heard of the country before and so I was fascinated to learn more! I also wanted to get a completely new experience and new set of skills and the fact that the abroad was a focus entirely different than my majors and minor, I thought it would be a great opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and expand my horizon!
What Slovenian landscape feature are you most excited to see, and why?
I am so excited to see the entire country that it’s hard for me to choose one thing I am most excited to see! I think if I had to pick, I would pick seeing the Adriatic Sea coast because I miss being able to see an ocean and walk along a beach. It would be a great reminder of home.
If you had your own shield/coat of arms, what four qualities would you choose to represent you?
There are a lot of qualities I would want to have on my coat of arms but the four I would choose would be sustainability, empathy, love, and inclusivity. I would choose sustainability because it extends beyond generations and provides thoughtfulness and a golden rule aspect. I would choose empathy because I think it is important to realize that you never know what someone is going through and being empathetic is very important in communicating with one another. I would choose love because love knows only love! I would choose inclusivity because I believe it’s important to respect and include all people regardless of ethnicity, background, beliefs, etc.
For me, the Slovenia Abroad is an opportunity to …
Grow in my understand of the world and expand my horizons by tapping into a whole new world! It is an opportunity to try something new and be adventurous, all while being thoughtful!
