June 14 – We all met up without a hitch at the Beijing airport and were whisked off in a nice tour bus for a two-hour drive to the Great Wall. Then into the heart of the city, a quick lunch and off to see the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven. Next came shopping at the Pearl Market, fast dinner which was a sampling of real Chinese food and the China Acrobat Theater to see some amazing young people climb like moneys, get 10 or more (couldn’t keep track to count them all) on one bicycle while going in a tight circle on stag, and incredible balancing acts – like jumping on poco sticks using their hands. This was all just the first day!!!

June 15 – up at 5:30 to catch the train for our 30-hour train ride to Mongolia.
