Le fleuve est un chemin qui marche. "The river is a road that walks." This is how the Amerindians described the St. Lawrence River to the early French settlers in North America. This studio art abroad was titled "Rendez-vous '99: River Regions." Each of the locations we visited was directly associated with a river, the logical consequence of the importance rivers played to village life prior to the era of railroads, motorcars, and aer-o-planes.

This group of 21 artists spent nine of their ten weeks travelling, with only one week to work in the studio at the end of Fall Quarter.
